Ukrainian Photo Diary
On February 24, when hostilities began on the territory of our country, the lives of all Ukrainians changed. The war has affected everyone in one way or another and made it clear that life will never be the same again. The Ukrainian Photo Diary project aims to document the changes in the everyday life of Ukrainians through photos and videos taken since the beginning of February 24, 2022. We invite everyone to take part in our project. Show the world what is happening in our country and how terribly this war is affecting the Ukrainian people. Document your daily life, send us photos of the consequences of the war and how Ukraine is defending itself against the aggressor. Show the world that war is the most terrible vice of humanity, which brings pain, suffering and great grief. Get involved! The book "The Clock of War" can be ordered at cost price in print form. Mission
The Ukrainian Photo Diary is a Swiss-Ukrainian project that allows everyone to upload photos, videos, and drawings to a shared archive. We adhere to the international press code. All submitted images undergo editorial review, and those that violate human dignity are removed from our archive. This photo project takes a documentary approach, aiming to present reality in its unaltered form. We are particularly committed to capturing and documenting everyday life since the outbreak of the war. In addition to images depicting the war, our archive also includes photos of daily life, showing how it has changed and become visible since the war began in Ukraine. Unlike other photo archives, our project is open to photographers of all experience levels, as well as children and schools - everyone is welcome to participate. We respect the copyright of the photographers who generously contribute their work to the project, helping to raise funds to support those affected by the war. The project showcases the collected works through exhibitions and a book project to highlight the suffering caused by the conflict. Add Descriptions
Your photos typically contain only the embedded metadata. However, for our documentation, it is important to know what exactly is depicted in the photos and when they were taken. The photographer's name, the context, and the location where the photo was taken are also significant for our documentary archive. We have compiled some links that recommend programs for annotating your photos. Alternatively, you can also add a comment online after uploading your photos. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us via email - we are happy to help. You can upload and describe your photos directly into our archive using this link.
Child Reporters
The "Ukrainian Photo Diary" has developed a support program for schools and children. Schools have the opportunity to collaborate with our photographers in Ukraine. In addition to courses, we also offer international cooperation and exchanges with schools in Switzerland to facilitate dialogue. Child reporters can submit not only photos but also drawings, texts, and videos. Through the child reporter project, we aim to document and preserve the perspective of children on this conflict.
